Khimia 2018 covered all sectors of the chemical industry and brought together representatives of business, industry, science and authorities from all over the world.
Khimia is Russia's largest chemical trade show with over 50 years of history. Over all these years, it has retained its prestige and importance for the chemical community and all sectors of economy which depend on the chemical technology, materials and products.

Show Highlights
Khimia 2018 was a platform for signing cooperation agreements and memorandums between the Russian Chemists Union, National Agency for Qualifications Development, Chemical Department of Lomonosov Moscow State University, Association of Chemistry Teachers and Educators, Union of Supplementary Professional Education, and Council on Professional Qualifications in Housing and Utilities Sector.
The important Startup Chemzone gave sectoral startups and small business enterprises a unique opportunity to show their developments to a wide range of potential investors and industry majors.
The 2nd Employment Centre was organised by Expocentre AO and Vybor Employment Agency. It helped to find qualitied personnel, see interesting job offers, and get career consultations.
The Expocentre for Counterfeit-Free Exhibitions Project: minimizing counterfeit products showcased at trade shows and illegal copying of exhibited new products.
The traditional Centre of Science and Education was organised by Russia's leading research institutes of the Russian Academy of Sciences, colleges and universities whose graduates work in the chemical industry. The participants included Lomonosov Moscow State University, Mendeleev University of Chemical Technology of Russia, Saint-Petersburg State Institute of Technology, Tver State University, Frumkin Institute of Physical Chemistry and Electrochemistry, Institute of Solid State Physics, Skryabin Institute of Biochemistry and Physiology of Microorganisms, Institute of Cell Biophysics, Institute of Plastic Surgery, Nesmeyanov Institute of Organoelement Compounds, Institute of Silicate Chemistry, Blagonravov Mechanical Engineering Research Institute, Komi Institute of Chemistry, and Emanuel Russian Institute of Biochemical Physics.
Supporting Events
The central event of the associated program, the 6th Moscow International Chemical Forum, was organised by the Russian Chemists Union and Expocentre AO. The forum included various plenary sessions, conferences, panels and workshops with participation of representatives of the Russian authorities, business, research and expert circles of Russia and other countries, leading developers, manufacturers and suppliers of chemical products. The main topics are development of export of high-tech chemical products, introduction of the technical regulations of EEU, building of staff capacity, provision of raw materials to Russian paint enterprises, digital technology in the Russian chemical industry, etc. The Russian Chemists Union organised the sectoral competition "Five Stars. Leaders of Chemical Industry." Its winners were companies which introduced innovative ideas, enhanced productivity, and carry out welfare driven policy. To see a full programme, go here>>.
The Conference on Implementation of Road Maps for Development of Key Sectors of the Russian Chemical Industry was organised by NIITEKHIM OAO and devoted to the company's 60th anniversary.
Expocentre and NIITEKHIM jointly with CROC and TerraLink organised the Foresight Session on Industry 4.0 in the Chemical Industry. The session was devoted to digitalization of the chemical industry.
The Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Russian Export Center and Expocentre AO organised a consultation session on support instruments of programmes for accelerated development of export of Russian chemical products. The event was supported by the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade.
The Chemical Department of Lomonosov Moscow State University and the Editors of the Supercritical Fluids: Theory and Practice Magazine hold a Seminar on Green Chemistry: Supercritical Fluid Technologies in Addressing Environmental Challenges.

The 12th Russian Competition of Young Scientists was organised by Mendeleev University of Chemical Technology of Russia, Mendeleev Russia Chemical Society and Russian Chemists Union. The event was devoted to Russian scientist Sergey Golubkov. The competition took place in the run up to 2019 which was proclaimed the International Year of the Periodic Table of Chemical Elements by UNESCO. Next year will mark the 150th anniversary of its creation by Russian scientist Dmitry Ivanovich Mendeleev. The competition was also part of the First CIS Forum on Chemistry and Chemical Technology which was devoted to the 120th anniversary of the Mendeleev University of Chemical Technology of Russia.
