Gazprom Neft and Uralhimmash signed a partnership agreement at Khimia 2023

Uralhimmash (Ural Plant of Chemical Machine-Building) and the Gazprom Neft – Industrial Innovations Technology Centre agreed to create advanced equipment for new oil refining and petrochemical technologies. With its help, Russian enterprises will be able to obtain more petrochemical products and raw materials from oil.

The companies signed a partnership agreement at the Khimia 2023 international exhibition for the chemical industry and science. The Gazprom Neft – Industrial Innovations Centre will provide development of new technologies, while Uralhimmash will provide equipment. The co-operation will enable the creation of integrated solutions for licensing technologies and equipment for oil refining in order to provide the industry with Russian technologies of in-house design.

Diversification of the refining business is one of Gazprom Neft’s technological development priorities. In 2023, the company successfully completed pilot tests of several oil refining technologies. These include the Nafta Conversum technology, which enables the refining of naphtha into high octane petrol. The company also successfully tested technologies for producing acetic acid and n-propanol, which are required for creating new reagents for oil production.
