Innovations and high technologies in the focus of Khimia 2020
EXPOCENTRE Fairgrounds hosted the official opening of Khimia 2020, the 23rd International Exhibition for Chemical Industry and Science. The opening ceremony was attended by Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Mikhail Ivanov, Deputy Minister of Energy of the Russian Federation Pavel Sorokin, Vice-President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation Dmitry Kurochkin, President of the Russian Union of Chemists Viktor Ivanov, representatives of federal and regional state authorities of the Russian Federation, educational and scientific institutions, branch unions and associations.
On behalf of the organisers Director General of EXPOCENTRE AO Sergey Bednov thanked the Ministry of Industry and Trade, Ministry of Energy, Chamber of Commerce and Industry, under the patronage of which the exhibition is held, relevant institutes, unions and associations that cooperate with the Khimia exhibition, for their assistance in holding this event. "Khimia is one of the oldest projects of EXPOCENTRE and this year it celebrates its 55th anniversary”, he said. “Despite the difficult conditions, we managed to assemble the exhibition. Today it is attended by 112 Russian and 8 foreign companies".
Exhibitors from, Belarus, Germany, Japan, Kazakhstan and Russia demonstrate their developments and innovative solutions. The exhibition’s product sectors cover all areas of the chemical complex. Innovations and high technologies are in the focus of attention.
"The Ministry has been supporting the Khimia exhibition for a year now because it is an opportunity to synchronize watches with our manufacturers, to get feedback from them on support measures that we implement in the framework of the state industrial policy”, Mikhail Ivanov said.
Pavel Sorokin thanked the participants of Khimia 2020 for their devotion to the industry, for the fact that, despite difficult times, so many participants gathered at the exhibition. "We need to meet at such events in order to exchange the latest ideas and, most importantly, to share problems. Because everything in the world is moving forward through problems and challenges".
Dmitry Kurochkin emphasized the presence of regional stands at EXPOCENTRE's exhibitions, which are becoming more and more popular. He also praised the system of chambers of commerce and industry in the regions for business development.
"The exhibition is not only a demonstration of the successes and capabilities of individual companies, but also an opportunity to show the success of the entire chemical industry”, Viktor Ivanov continued. “Besides, the exhibition gives an opportunity not only to see the achievements, but also to discuss them within the supporting programme".
The key event of the Khimia 2020 supporting programme has become the 8th Moscow International Chemical Forum - the largest industry discussion platform with participation of leading companies of chemical and petrochemical market of Russia.
The Khimia 2020 exhibition runs till October 30.
