Area of VR/AR solutions for chemical industry to be created at Khimia 2019

29 / 07 / 2019

The premiere of the Khimia 2019 international exhibition for the chemical industry, that will run at Expocentre Fairgrounds on 16-19 September, will be a special area of VR/AR for the chemical industry accompanied by the conference having the same name.

There will be presented technologies of virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) which allow effectively training production staff of chemical companies, presenting peculiarities of technological equipment, telling about the right procedure in emergency and non-emergency situations, and enhancing industrial efficiency and safety as a whole.

Today, VR/AR solutions are actively used by the giants of the Russian chemical and petrochemical industries such as SIBUR, URALCHEM, Gazprom Neft, and Rosneft. However, one should not think that VR/AR is a privilege of large associations. The flexibility of VR/AR solutions and their cost make them available for medium and small chemical companies.

For the first time the leading Russian developers of industrial VR/AR solutions – CROC, VR Concept and Modum Lab – will present their products to the exhibitors and visitors in the special area of VR/AR for the chemical industry. The industry experts will tell about the prospects for implementation of VR/AR solutions in the chemical and petrochemical sectors techniques for implementing them in production. The participants will showcase new products of the VR market such as Teslasuit AR/VR suit and the TAU Tracker gloves which make the work in virtual space close to the work done in reality.

Khimia 2019 is organised by Expocentre AO and supported by the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Russian Chemists Union, Chimvest Scientific and Technical Centre, NIITEKHIM OAO, Mendeleev Russian Chemical Society, Chemistry Department of Lomonosov Moscow State University, and Mendeleev University of Chemical Technology of Russia. The trade show runs under the auspices of the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

Every year Khimia welcomes over 400 exhibitors from more than 20 countries. It is attended by about 16,000 Russian and foreign professionals.
