Khimia 2017 promotes discussions about new digital technologies 4.0 in chemical industry

The supporting program of the 20th edition of Khimia (23-26 October 2017, Expocentre Fairgrounds, Moscow, Russia) includes topics which have never been discussed at this event before.

One of the most interesting events for chemical professionals will be the Foresight Session on Industry 4.0 Technologies for Chemical and Petrochemical Sectors.

The session will run on the second day of the exhibition, October 24. Industry 4.0 is the fourth so called technological revolution, development of a “smart factory” with computerized manufacturing. These new technologies call for new business approaches. Industry 4.0 helps to manage production processes and logistics, interaction with clients, monitoring of assets, and many other things.

According to the Department of the Chemical and Timber Industry of the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade, the aim of the event is to evaluate prospects of the industry 4.0 digital technologies in the Russian chemical and petrochemical sectors and to work out recommendations on how to develop this new field. Experts will discuss the influence of new technologies on improvement of resource efficiency, safety and competitiveness of the chemical industry, and changes in the competitive landscape of the industry.

The participants include globally known Russian companies, which have experience in introducing new digital technologies, research and educational centres, equipment and software suppliers, providers of services, industry experts, and Russian government officials.

The session includes reviews of the Industry 4.0 market, its prospects, and introduction of these technologies at Russian chemical and petrochemical production facilities.

The discussions will cover many topics including development of SCADA and MOC of new generation, IT solutions, telecommunication services for Industry 4.0, management of company digital transformation, digital safety, and other.

At the close of the session, the participants will work out expert recommendations and proposals for development of Industry 4.0 technologies in the chemical industry for the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade.
