Khimia 2015 was officially opened at Expocentre Fairgrounds. This year Russia’s largest chemical trade show celebrates its 50-year anniversary. The anniversary coincides with the centennial of Leonid Kostandov, a Khimia initiator and USSR minister of chemical industry.

The exhibitors and organizers were addressed by President of the Russian Federation, Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade, Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, representatives of the professional community and the chemical industry.

Russian Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Sergey Tsyb, who visited the Khimia opening ceremony and exposition, pointed out: “The trends that have followed this largest chemical show for 50 years prove that the interest is generated not only by active promotion of Russian and foreign companies at the exhibition but also the opportunity to show new technology.”

“We see that more than 400 companies from 24 countries participate in Khimia this year. It shows that chemistry is actively developing. We meet the anniversary edition of Khimia with new opportunities, new challenges, new trends and new instruments that the government creates to make the investment climate in the chemical industry more attractive,” said Deputy Minister.

Other speakers were Deputy Chairman of the Russian State Duma Committee on Industry Pavel Dorokhin, President of the Russian Chemists Union Viktor Ivanov, and Dean of the Chemical Department of Lomonosov Moscow State University, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences Valery Lunin. They stressed the importance of Khimia for the development of the Russian chemical industry and science.
