The Khimia exhibition celebrates its 50th anniversary

This year the Khimia International Exhibition, which runs on October 27-30 at Expocentre Fairgrounds in Moscow, celebrates its 50th anniversary.

The Khimia project traces its history back to 1965. For all the years the project has enjoyed the reputation of Russia’s key show for the chemical industry and science. Khimia was the first Russian exhibition approved by UFI, the Global Association of the Exhibition Industry in 1975. Nowadays the Khimia exhibition retains its position as one of the leading trade shows and has turned into the largest industry mega-project joining several specialized exhibitions: Chem-Lab-Analyt, Chemmash. Pumps, Green Chemistry, and Plastics Industry Show.

The trade show is invariably in the spotlight of the Russian and international professional communities and the Russian authorities. Khimia 2015 is organized by Expocentre and supported by the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade. The show runs under the auspices of the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry with the assistance of the Russian Chemists Union, NIITEKHIM, Mendeleev Russian Chemical Society, and Chemical Department of Lomonosov Moscow State University.

About 500 companies from 25 countries participate in the anniversary edition. Companies from Belarus, China, Finland, France, Germany, and India organize their national pavilions.

The latest accomplishments will be showcased by majors in the global chemical industry, among them Akzo Nobel, Dow, Evonik, Epc Engineering, Ksb, Haesaerts, Hosokawa, Sartorius, Shimadzu, Siemens, Solvay, and many other foreign companies.

Among nearly 300 Russian exhibitors there will be such well-known companies as BSK, Bashkhim, Gazpom Neftekhim Salavat, Polyplastic Group, Kaustik, Kazanorgsintez, KuibyshevAzot, Kazphosphate, KazAzot, Nizhnekamskneftekhim, Pigment, Pera Plastic, Ruskhimset, Reatex, TAIF-NK, Uralkali, Uralchem, Phosagro, Chemresurs, and others.

The jubilee Khimia project comprises a large number of festive events. The business related program features the 3rd Moscow International Chemical Forum, Symposium on Green Chemistry, the 6th International Conference on Resource and Energy Saving Technology in the Chemical and Petrochemical Industries, round table on Low-Tonnage Chemistry: to Be or Not to Be?, the 9th Young Scientists Project Contest, and others. The events are organized by industry associations and research centres with participation of recognized experts and professionals from the industry leading companies.
