The Project of Development Strategy of the Russian Chemistry by 2030 will be presented at the International Chemical Forum

Yuri Slyusar’, Deputy Minister of the Russian Industry and Trade, made a speech with a proposal to revise the draft of the 2030 Strategy at the meeting of the exhibition organizing committee KHIMIA’2013 and the International Chemical Forum. According to the Deputy Minister, Forum period coincides with the first summing-up in the project of “Development Strategy of Chemical and Petrochemical Complex by 2030”. As a result, the Chemical Forum can become a successful ground for a public introduction of a new document.

It is to be recalled that the task to work out “Development Strategy of Chemical and Petrochemical Complex by 2030” was charged with the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Ministry of Energy following the results of the meeting “On Measures to Develop Chemical and Petrochemical Complex of the Russian Federation” chaired by Dmitri Medvedev on July 3, 2013. According to the task, the project of the Strategy is to be submitted for consideration to the Government this December.

One more point from the list of Dmitri Medvedev’s tasks will also be discussed within the frame of the Chemical Forum. The problem of creating conditions on the expansion of production and obtaining environmentally friendly (“green”) products of Chemical and Petrochemical Complex will be considered at the workshop “Health, Security and Environment” chaired by Natalya Tarasova, anacademician of the Russian Academy of Science and IUPAC Vice-President, in cooperation with the Ministry of Industry and Trade.

The Moscow International Chemical Forum is organized by the Russian Chemists Union. It will be held in October 28-29 at Expocentre at the exhibition KHIMIA 2013. Company leaders and experts from Kazakhstan, Belarus, the Ukraine and Russia confirmed their participation in the Forum. Among others, the leaders of such companies as Sibur, Nizhnekamskneftekhim, Phosagro, EuroChem, Belneftekhim, United Chemical Company (Kazakhstan) will make reports at the plenary meeting of the Forum.

The task of the Chemical Forum is to develop cooperation between the chemists from the Customs Union countries and the Ukraine further and specify new challenges which the complex faces in terms of the growing globalization.
