30 / 11 / 2016

The Interdepartmental Science and Technology Council met at the Russian Industry and Trade Ministry on November 25 under the chairmanship of Sergey Tsyb to address low-tonnage chemistry development issues.

The previous meetings held in Ufa on May 27, 2016, and on the sidelines of Khimia 2016 exhibition on September 19 enabled the Russian Industry and Trade Ministry to elaborate:

  • A system of criteria for attributing chemical products to low-tonnage chemistry based on qualitative and quantitative parameters and synchronizing Russian and global practices;
  • A system of 27 main product segments prioritized by the roadmap.

The elaboration of a concept and a roadmap yielded a system of 27 product segments. Proposals of more than 100 chemical industry enterprises made in a poll were incorporated into the roadmap concept.

The Industry and Trade Ministry built a matrix of product segment prioritization following the analysis of information presented by chemical and petrochemical sectors in regard to low-tonnage chemical production, consumption and development plans.

Experts and representatives of interested chemical and petrochemical enterprises considered and generally approved drafts of the concept and the development roadmap for low-tonnage chemistry production in Russia in the period until 2030.
