The Announcement of the Exhibition Khimia 2015

07 / 10 / 2015

The 18th edition of the Khimia International Exhibition for Chemical Industry and Science will run in Pavilions No.2 and 8 of Expocentre Fairgrounds on 27-30 October 2015. Khimia is Russia’s largest and most recognized chemical trade show.

Khimia is organized by Expocentre ZAO with official support from the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade, Moscow City Government, Russian Union of Chemists, NIITEKHIM OAO, Mendeleev Russian Chemical Society, Chemical Department of the Lomonosov Moscow State University, and under auspices of the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

This year Khimia celebrates its 50th anniversary and the centennial of Leonid Kostandov, ex-Minister of the USSR Chemical Industry and initiator of Khimia.

The Khimia trade show was launched in 1965 to become this country’s main event for the chemical industry and science. Khimia was the first Russian show to receive the UFI label in 1975. Now it also has the label of the Russian Union of Exhibitions and Fairs.

“Khimia has become a major congress and exhibition”, said Victor Ivanov, President of the Russian Chemists Union. “I am positive that all events held within the exhibition will bring new solutions to the problems faced by the Russian chemical industry.”

Today, Khimia is the largest chemical project which brings together under one roof several exhibitions: Chem-Lab-Analyt, Chemmash. Pumps, Green Chemistry, and Plastics Industry Show.

The anniversary edition welcomes more than 400 companies from 24 countries: Austria, Belarus, Belgium, Canada, China, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, India, Ireland, Japan, Kazakhstan, the Republic of Korea, Latvia, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Portugal, Russia, Singapore, Switzerland, the UK, Ukraine, and the USA. China, Belarus, France and Germany will have national pavilions.

Large international producers such as Akzo Nobel, Andritz, Dow, Epc Ingineering, Evonik, Hatsaerts, Hosokawa, Huntsman, Jumo, Netzch, Sartorius, Shimadzu, Solvay, and others will demonstrate their new products.

The majority of exhibitors are Russia’s leading chemical enterprises such as  Bashkir Soda Company, Gazprom Heftekhim Salavat, Poliplastic Group, ETS,  Kazanorgsintez, Kazphosphate, KazAzot, Kaustik, KuibyshevAzot, Nizhnekamskneftekhim, Reatex, Taif NK, Uralchem, Uralkali, PhosAgro, Chempack, Energomash, and many others (250 companies in total).

The area of over 20,000 gross sq m will be occupied by showcases of the latest technology, engineering solutions, raw materials and equipment for the chemical, petrochemical, medical, fuel and energy, and agriculture industries.

As usual the widely showcased products are paints and varnishes, fuel, reagents, catalysts, chemical fibers, composite materials and fiberglass. Other exhibits include the latest developments in organic and microbiological synthesis, bio technology, and equipment for transportation of chemical and petrochemical products.

For the first time Khimia will feature the International Salon of Equipment and Technologies for Corrosion Protection and Corrosion Resistant Materials CORRUS 2015. It will demonstrate equipment, materials and technology for corrosion protection and include the Conference on New Technologies for Corrosion Protection in Manufacturing.

The salon and conference are organized by the Gubkin Russian State Oil and Gas University, DECHEMA - Gesellschaft für Chemische Technik und Biotechnologie e.V. (Society for Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology) and Expocentre ZAO. Support provided by the European Federation of Corrosion, and the Oil and Gas Section of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences.

Khimia 2015 will feature the first Petrochemistry Salon devoted to oil and gas processing.

The anniversary of Khimia is celebrated with many events such as the exhibition of archived photos and the show of chemical experiments.
