Khimia 2019 Exhibition

26 / 06 / 2019

From September 16 through 19, 2019 Expocentre Fairgrounds (Pavilion No.2 and No.8), Moscow, will host the 22nd edition of the Khimia International Exhibition for Chemical Industry and Science.

The trade show with more than fifty years history is widely considered a key event in the chemical industry. This major industry show traditionally brings together the most successful companies whose aim is to showcase the latest technology and innovations.

Every year more than 400 exhibitors from 20 countries take part in Khimia. Representatives of different sectors of the Russian economy, who are interested in the application of the latest chemical products and technologies in production, show some interest in the trade show.

Khimia is annually attended by about 16,000 visitors from nearly all regions of Russia and other countries. The national pavilions of Belarus, China, France, Germany, and Kazakhstan have become traditional.

The trade show is supported at the highest level. Prime Minister of Russia Dmitry Medvedev annually sends his welcome messages to the Khimia visitors and participants. In 2017 President of Russia Vladimir Putin congratulated the participants and organisers on the 20th anniversary of the Khimia exhibition. In his welcome address he paid particular attention to the implementation of advanced technologies and solutions to key professional challenges.

Khimia is supported by the Chimvest Scientific and Technical Centre, the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Russian Chemists Union, NIITEKHIM OAO, Mendeleev Russian Chemical Society, Chemical Department of Lomonosov Moscow State University, and Mendeleev University of Chemical Technology of Russia. The trade show runs under the auspices of the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

A great interest in the trade show can be explained by the fact that chemical production in our country shows a steady growth and sometimes outpaces the growth in manufacturing industries. The trade show, where participants showcase the latest technology for processing of chemical feedstock into high added-value products, often becomes a starting point for making decisions on investments and construction of new production facilities or upgrade of existing ones.

The Khimia organisers seek to update the exhibition and its supporting events to promote implementation of new technologies and distribution of good practices in the chemical industry. Since 2017 the sessions devoted to digitalisation of the chemical industry are an important part of the Khimia associated events. At the sessions representatives of chemical companies together with the industry experts and professionals of the IT sector show how new digital technologies enable to enhance the management effectiveness of chemical production, make it more adaptable, cost-effective and safe.

During the supporting events much attention is usually given to the issues of environment, environmental management, and implementation of the best available technologies.

The chemical industry is growing and becoming more complex thus bringing together increased requirements for qualified personnel. To respond to the request, the Employment Centre was organised at the trade show. The companies participating in Khimia can inform the Centre of their vacancies, review applicants’ CVs and, if interested, have an immediate interview. This service is free-of-charge for the participants. Besides, the supporting program features round tables and consultation sessions on the HR development in the chemical industry and improvement of core education.
